Continuing on with the theme of one word tips…

Consistency is a must! Unfortunately, repetitive tasks must be undertaken to achieve success. If something works, you need to continue to do it. Very obvious, but you would be so surprised at how many people start to stray away from what works and eventually get very frustrated at their apparent lack of success.

Note: Again, you must stick with it and make it past 90 days and make sure you fund your marketing enough to keep it working 24/7..

Wisdom says we get what we focus on. Therefore, ‘focus’ is a very important quality to possess if you want to succeed in an internet-based business. The power of focus can guide you to make the right decisions to achieve your goals and keep you from getting distracted and side-tracked.

Focus can be strengthened by breaking goals into short, medium and long term time frames. Those of us who are stay at home moms, will have to consider our children when breaking goals into time frames. Those items I can finish in a few minutes I do while I see my child is quiet at play or snacking in her high chair. I save the items that take longer periods of time to complete for nap time. I found this to be very helpful in making sure that all my duties for my business and my most important duties for being a mom get completed.

Once you have done this, you can create and focus on objectives and activities that lead to these goals.

More from the article that was shared with me this week along with a few of my own thoughts.

It takes time to establish an online business and many people quit before the business becomes profitable. (See my post on Patience) It is necessary to be determined to succeed and to persist in taking the necessary actions every day that increase business. For online businesses, these actions revolve around driving traffic to well written sales pages so that you can sell your products and services. In the beginning it may revolve around finding ways to drive that traffic. It can take months to test strategies and find those that work.

Also, It is usually necessary to create an opt-in mailing list to build trust with potential clients or customers and this can take time and persistence. We have all heard it before: Most people have to see something 7 times before they take action.

Don’t Give Up!! Demand Success!

Most of the time people start an online business to make money. Well, we know of course, that we have to spend some money in order to make money. This can be tricky in knowing where to spend one’s money (that is for a later post). Perhaps even trickier at times can be having the patience to wait for that constant flow of traffic that we all long for. This is where patience becomes a true virtue.

It can take up to 90 days or longer for some to see consistent results. This is many times why there are those program hoppers out there. They don’t see results quickly and they think, “this program doesn’t work.” So they move on to the next one. This becomes very costly in the long run. It is better to continue investing what you can into one program until it really gets off the ground.

As quoted from an article that was sent to me recently “…patience is an essential ingredient for online business success. Without it, you can give up too soon. Very few people achieve online success immediately so you need to be willing to wait until you get the results you want. This is why persistence and patience go hand in hand. Keep moving towards your goals and be willing to be patient until you reap the rewards you desire.”

Patience Brings Prosperity

Many times when looking for a program, I of course looked at the initial cost to get started. One must do this, but it is also very important to learn about the other costs involved as well. This is where it comes in very handy to be able to contact someone as I mentioned in my previous post.

You may want to ask:

*Is there a cost for a webpage?
*Is there a monthly fee to remain a member?
*Will you need an autoresponder system?
*Do you have to spend a certain amount on product or service yourself each month?
*Is there a fee for the payment processing?
*How much on average does one spend on marketing? (This will of course vary from person to person, but it is still important to ask.

As you can see, there can be many more costs involved than just joining the program. Make sure to look at these at that it is within your budget to become involved.

So, how do you know which on-line money-making program is right for you? First, I recommend making a list of what you are looking for in a program.

  • Do you want to get paid by the hour?
  • Or do you prefer making more of a residual income?
  • How much time can you commit each day/week?
  • How much money do you have to invest?
  • Are you looking to make quick money or are you looking for something that will pay bigger longer down the road?

Once you have determined your answers, it is time to begin searching. This may take a great deal amount of time as there are many programs out there. Do your research on any that you find interesting.

These are questions you should ask yourself as you research:

  • Does the ad say you don’t have to do anything? (Be reasonable–do you ever get something for nothing?)
  • How much does it cost to join? What other fees will be involved to really get started?
  • If you join, what is it exactly that you will be responsible for? Marketing? Selling? Calling people? There is some role you will have to play–remember–you don’t get something for nothing
  • Can you get in contact with the person promoting the program either via email or phone? (If someone is truly behind their program, then they should be able to be contacted)
  • DON’T just join the first program you see that looks good. Take a little time, a few days to a week or more if you need it to delve into it a little deeper. Ask a lot of questions. You have the right to do so. If the person you are asking seems annoyed with your questions, then I would stay AWAY. After all, you may need some help once you get started and you want someone who will be there to support you.

Once you have found what you are looking for–stick with it. Don’t be a program hopper. Much money gets lost this way.
